Radical Change in the Fitness Business

I had a great time today with my colleague Michael Scott Scudder, who conducted an Internet radio interview of me regarding "Radical Change in the Fitness Business".

Michael is a unique individual, always staying ahead of the industry and often times accurately predicting the future to come. He has been in the fitness business for over 30 years. Thank you Michael for the discussion and thanks to the long list of professionals in the industry who took time out to listen. The future of the fitness and wellness industries is going to be radical. Listen by visiting a recording of the interview here.

Loved this! Your discussions and knowledge never cease to amaze me. I think you're right, the product is being replaced by the experience and we have to start listening more to the customer. I took notes the whole time and I look forward to thinking more about these things for the company I work for and for the one I hope to own in the future. My question to you is, being a personal trainer for a fitness company I am 100% commission. How can you create an experience and sell quickly enough to gain money and business for yourself without compromising the great experience you want to deliver to the member? Thank you!

Hi Keri and thanks for your comment. I appreciate your listening to the interview very much.

You ask a good and complex question. What I would assert is that key is for you to build an online brand that provides both prospective and existing clients valuable help and information whenever and wherever they want it. This will both promote your business, establish you as a trusted resource and deliver value. Setting this digital platform up can generate money in the digital world while creating more business for actual training sessions. The melding of the physical and digital in business is key. This approach will help you focus and provide greater service when clients see you while also heightening the value you deliver when they aren't with you in person.
